Welcome!
The New Jersey State Safety Council grew from the Newark Safety Council, founded in 1924. Today it remains a non-governmental, non-profit public service organization focused on preventing accidental injuries across the state. Programming and outreach rely on support from public and private subscribers, partners and grant sources that share that goal.
Our mission is to help New Jersey workplaces, schools and families adopt safer policies and daily habits. We emphasize training, education and practical injury prevention so fewer people suffer harm and fewer communities bear the cost of serious accidents or unsafe working conditions. For planning ideas geared to employers, review the voluntary workplace safety overview. For current class listings and membership, use the site menu links to Training and Membership.
